On Wednesday 7th September we are delighted to be running a sailing day in support of the 45th anniversary of the Mountbatten Hospice. This will comprise a day of J70 fleet racing, followed by a social event at the Castle, which will be open to all. The J70s will be provided by the Royal Yacht Squadron, Royal Thames Yacht Club and the Royal Southern Yacht Club with the full charter fee of £300 per boat (which is included in the entry fee) being given to the Mountbatten Hospice to get the fundraising for this event off to a flying start. The entry fee per club of £500 also includes 4 tickets to the prizegiving and BBQ.
All local sailing clubs are now being invited to enter a team for the regatta and it is hoped around 15 boats will race. Please complete the online form to indicate your interest in participating, all the details for the day and sailing the J70s can be found on the RYS website. These boats are sailed with 4 crew. All teams are included in the prizegiving and BBQ at the club following the racing and additional tickets will be available for anyone to buy, with part of proceeds from ticket sales donated to Mountbatten. It will start at 4pm and include a BBQ and a raffle. Additional tickets cost £50 per person (£20 for children) and the price includes entry to the raffle, with the chance to win high quality local goods from the Isle of Wight.
